Simone Lindhout’s textile prints create a play with negative and positive shapes, colour and pattern. The Blue Mountains, NSW is her current place of discovery and inspiration and return to a small studio practice tailoring her hand printed designs onto accessories and home wares.
Simone has a Diploma of ART (majoring in Printmaking and Photography) from Newcastle C.A.E 1978 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Film (majoring in Animation) from Swinburne, VIC 1988.
She is represented in the Australian National Gallery in its print collection with theatre and community posters from the mid 80’s and was an AFI nominee for her animated short film “Home Sweet, Home” in 1988. She has worked as a Graphic Designer on many interactive exhibits in the early 90’s at the Powerhouse Museum before settling in the mountains with her partner.
