Carla Teixeira

Carla Teixeira is a graduate of Theatre/Media from Charles Sturt University. She has worked in the Arts / Events / Film and Sound Industries for 30 years.

She worked with the National Film and Sound Archive for 14 years, Seven of those years curating New Media and Recorded Sound collections. In 2012 Carla began studying IT.  Today she considers herself an emerging Web Designer and Curator.

Carla has worked for SOCOG on Opening and Closing Ceremonies in Production Coordination, with Physical Theatre companies Stalker Stilt Theatre and Legs on The Wall as their Administrator and with Ric Birch on the Harbour coordination of New Years Eve fireworks. She was also given the opportunity to do an internship with Sydney Living Museums, working on their website. is her first experience of curating an exhibtion and of fundraising. Her desire to use all of her combined skills to create the event was born from a deep sense of despair about the state of the world today and a strong desire to help others.

She is including her handmade jewelry in the show which she has been making for over 10 years. Necklaces are her favourite pieces as they are steeped in ancient meaning and represent powerful symbols of protection in tribal communities.
